Q. What kind of Computer
do I need to run the AeroLog® Company Version?
A. IBM compatible Pentium -100 or better. 32 Mbytes of Ram or better.
At least 30 Mbytes of free disk space. Disk space required is directly
proportional to the number of pilots you have.
Q. What kind of Operating System Software do I need to run
AeroLog®?
A. AeroLog® is compatible with Win 95/98/ME, Win NT and
Windows 2000. It is not Mac compatible.
Q. Does AeroLog® run on a Mac?
A. No.
Q. Is it legal for our company to keep computerised
Records of our pilot's hours?
A. Yes. AeroLog® meets the requirements of the Civil Aviation Safety
Authority (CASA) Australia and the Civil Aviation Regulations with regards to the logging
of Flight Time. This is stated in letter F97/4953 dated 24 Sept 1997 from the Manager,
Flight Crew Licencing, CASA.
Q. Is AeroLog® expensive?
A. No. The price depends on how many pilots you have and the
amount of product support you require. Contact FlightAce® Software for the price of the Company Version.
Q. Is AeroLog® suitable for all commercial pilots?
A. Yes. AeroLog® caters for all - Flying Clubs, Charter
Companies, Airlines etc.
Q. Can we log pilot Simulator Hours into
AeroLog®?
A. Yes. AeroLog® handles all types of Aircraft and Simulators.
Records can be filtered at view time and/or print time.
Q. Are computerised Log Books quicker than a hand
written ones?
A. Yes!
Q. Can AeroLog® keep a track of Duty Hours?
A. Yes. AeroLog® warns if duty and or flight time limits ar being
approached. AeroLog® will print monthly duty statements which comply with the requirements
of CASA.
Q. We'd like to computerise our Log Books but our
current records are all done manually. What do you suggest?
A. Total all previous log books and then commence using
AeroLog® from
a date you choose. You may go back and enter the earlier flying at a later date when you
have more time available. A few "Dummy Entries" at the start of
each pilot's log book
will ensure that grand totals are correct.
Q. Can AeroLog® manage aircraft maintenance?
A.No.
Q. Can AeroLog® be removed from my computer?
A.Yes. There is an Uninstall routine.
Q. Is there any product support for
AeroLog®?
A.Yes. This depends on your requirements. In the first
instance via this website and/or E-mail.
Q. How do I get a copy of AeroLog®?
A. You can:
1. Down Load from this website
OR
2. Purchase a CD ROM from FlightAce® Direct.
Q. Can we purchase a company version of AeroLog® form a
retail outlet?
A. No. It must be purchased from FlightAce® direct.
Q. We already have a Company Version AeroLog®. How do
we upgrade to the latest version?
A. Down Load from this website or
contact product support and we will post you a
new CD Rom. Run set_up.exe to install new application files. Your current data files
will not be overwritten.
Q. I have a Single User version of AeroLog® on the company
computer. I would like to upgrade to a company version. Is this possible?
A. Yes, contact FlightAce®
Software. You will have to uninstall the original version and then load it
again with a new Activation Code.
Q. Can we load AeroLog® so
that we can use our network server? We want to do this so that our
IT people can backup the data files on tape.
A. Yes. The best way to do this is to
load the AeroLog® Application Files to your local hard drive and the Data
Files to your Network Drive. This will allow your IT manager to back up
your Data Files on a regular basis. During the setup procedure, you will be prompted for the location to
load your Data Files.
Q. How many data files are there?
A. One for each pilot.
Q. We would like to set up AeroLog® so that it can be accessed from two different computers,
one in our operations office and the other in the pilots crew room. Is
this possible?
A. Yes!
Q. We have a version for 50 pilots. Can we enter a new route and have it automatically copied to all 50 pilots
data files.
A. Yes.
Q. Can and individual pilot keep his log book on his PC
at home in parallel with the company records we keep?
A. Yes. Your pilot can
purchase a single user version from FlightAce® Software and you can email
the data file to him at regular intervals.
Q. What happens if our company expands and we have more
pilots?
A. No problem. The software can expand to meet your
future needs.
